Forgotten Ballyfermot War of Indpendence 1921

We follow the events of the Active Service Unit F Company 4th battalion, who were responsible for defending Ballyfermot and the surrounding area.

This is the story of Padraig O’Connor and his family’s involvement in the events leading up to the Ballyfermot train ambush on the 8th July 1921.

We are told this story by Padraig’s nephew Diarmuid O’Connor, from the personal papers, notes, statements and verbal accounts which Padraig left to his family.
